Lunch was supposed to wake me up, but I ate too much and now I am just as groggy as before.  Hopefully this diet coke will wake me up a little.  I slept wretchedly last night, i suppose from going to bed too soon after waking up.

The weekend was action-packed.  Friday night we went out for sushi with a friend of M's who recently got engaged and the feller to whom she got engaged.  They seem like a good couple--he's not exactly the kind of person I might have expected to see her with, but they look like they have a solid, respectful relationship.  I had ice cream for dessert and have reached the unfortunate conclusion that I should not have any uncooked milk products unless they have become cheese.  Hurty belly.

Saturday we slept in, shopped, cooked and cleaned until people came over for a little gathering for [livejournal.com profile] shnells.  It looked like a fun time was had by all, especially judging by the number of empty wine bottles at the end of the night.  I know I had fun.  Whee!

Sunday I slept in less than I would have liked and went to a belly dance costume swap/sale hosted by a classmate of mine.  There was some nice stuff there, but nothing that told me it should come home with me (well, except for one copper beads and sequins bedleh, but somebody had already bought it).  Watched some videos, and concluded that I don't really like Rania's dancing very much, at least not based on what I saw.  She looks like she's overthinking everything.  After that, I went to a rehearsal for A Gypsy in Cairo--I am indeed part of the cast now.  Me, a Latina woman and an African-American woman are supposed to be Ghawazee sisters.  Guess our mom led an interesting life!  I'm only learning a few minutes of music, but since I don't know much about Ghawazee stuff, it's a good learning opportunity.  Costuming will be a challenge.  We are not wearing those frilly bumper dresses!

Tonight, a two hour class in double veil work, and then off to Ceremony--oh yes!  I will be out at a club tonight!  I don't have a hat for the tea party theme though.  Somehow I doubt I could find any acceptable hats in the Kenmore Square area between now and then.
