I do think the song is definitely part of her whole scrutiny of what it means to be so closely linked to a terrorist--how do you define good and bad, when do the ends justify the means if ever, how can someone be a killer yet have a very human side as well. The kinds of questions most people would rather not face, but most people don't have a Tamil Tiger for a father.
