guess what?
Jan. 18th, 2006 10:05 amHeat's out in our office again! Surprise! At least it's not bitter cold out today, but the chill is starting to set in. Also, the wind appears to be shaking the entire building and I'm pretty sure I can hear the lobby door blowing in the breeze. My horoscope in the Globe today said that today was a good day to take a vacation day. I really should have heeded the stars. The furnace guy came to our house at about 12:20 last night and stayed for about half an hour, so I am once again operating on a very small amount of sleep. Basically, what was wrong with our furnace is that the maintenance people who had come in the morning broke it as they conducted their yearly checkup. The guy who came last night mumbled something about how it was running really rough as he left, but whatever he did to it seems to have helped improve things, since the furnace was noticably quieter this morning. Hopefully all's well that ends well.
Well, for something completely different, here's a good review of a workshop on gothic belly dance by
meddevi aka Tempest, for those of you who might be interested. There's a nice collection of photos as well.
Najmat's class last night was again really good. Although last week I said she didn't really break things down, this week she ran an excellent lesson where she started with one movement (a traveling pelvic tilt on pointe) and showed how other movements were essentially based on that simple back and forth and weight shift. My arches are not loving the pointe stuff, but the rest of me is thrilled with the class. I may have a bit of a quandrary if/when Seyyide starts teaching again.
Update: we have massive amounts of heat for the next hour, at which point the furnace will turn off, and that is supposed to keep us warm for the rest of the day. Yeah. Oh stars, why did I not heed your wisdom?
