i am insane
Oct. 20th, 2005 09:20 amI just commited to entering the fusion category of Johara's contest on Nov. 5, doing gothic fusion. Because I don't have entirely enough going on in my life. But I figured since I'm working on all this material for tomorrow and MassMorgue anyway, I might as well take advantage of that preparation and get more mileage out of it. I had been thinking of using my wings and dancing to Cantus, but it looks like I can't get any rehearsal space with mirrors between now and then, so sadly I think I ought to relinquish that idea, plus there'd be a costuming issue*. Instead I think I will do Standing There by the Creatures, I love dancing to it and since I'm doing it at both upcoming shows I've been dancing it a lot, and costuming is good to go on that one. Also it comes in under the time limit so I won't have to do any editing or remixing, which I'd have to learn to do in an awful hurry.
*it's funny, when doing gothic belly dance for a gothic audience, I often mix in traditional belly dance costuming, like sparkly bra and belt, etc. But when doing gothic belly dance for a belly dance audience, I feel like I have to go heavier on the goth to make sure they see the difference. So I am fine with costuming for Cantus at MassMorgue, but don't have the right things to wear with the wings for the contest situation.
Woke up at 2am from a horrible nightmare about being appointed to guard over the decapitated head of a very bad man. It was in a pillowcase hanging from a post. I thought to myself "it would be terrible if he were really still alive" and before I could stop myself, knowing it was a bad idea, I looked into the pillowcase only to see the head's facial features slowly start to move, grimacing and beginning to look evilly around. Sat bolt upright in bed with heart pounding and an anguished feeling of dread, I did. I blame creepy scenes from Lost last night, along perhaps with reading too much about apparently crazy Saddam Hussein earlier in the day.
