And it's even the right color!

We made the Sidekick section of the Globe today, in a nice little "later this weekend" write-up. Thanks again to those of you who helped me with the press release--I think that having a professionally or pseudo-professionally done release has made a lot of difference! We're supposed to be featured in the fall arts supplement that comes with the Community Newspapers conglomorate (including the Arlington Advocate) today as well, hooray!

M gave me a Rainbow Connection Kermit for my birthday. It makes me all sniffly every time I see it.

My foot mostly does not hurt as long as I am wearing shoes, but barefoot it does still smart quite a bit. I used a bit more of my birthday money to order a pair of low-heeled black glitter dance shoes that should arrive today or tomorrow--I'm hoping those will get me through the next few weeks without making my foot worse. They're a style such that I'll be able to put some cushioning in them if needed, but I'm hoping they will be cushy enough on their own. Black isn't the ideal color for performance, but at least it will go with most costumes and the glitter makes them more stageworthy. Besides, I'll be damned if I'll buy brown shoes, the other color that goes with everything. Copper or bronze maybe, but not brown.

Sept. 25, dancing during the Hurricane Hafli
Oct. 1, dancing with Amira Jamal's students at Fanieul Hall for some kind of international festival thing
Oct. 21, appearing at burlesque hurricane benefit in Lowell (doing gothic belly dance, not burlesque)
Oct. 23: afternoon, another hurricane benefit at the Middle East; evening, dancing at I think 10pm upstairs at the ME
Oct. 30, doing 3 exciting and action-packed sets at Mass Morgue, hopefully the debut of my Isis Wings
Nov. 5, Sarab dances in Johara's contest
Nov. 12, dancing with Amira Jamal's troupe at some benefit or another on the north shore

So I have a three week break from performing, but I will have loads of prep work to do, especially once those wings arrive, and as of next week I'll be in two classes a week again. I do hope those shoes preserve my poor little feet...
