yay Dilboy VFW Post!
Sep. 20th, 2005 01:24 pmGot a call yesterday from Pat at the Dilboy VFW and just called her now--the VFW is going to only charge us half for the hall rental! Wonderful news! So I'll use the rest of the money from the NBDA to pay for the police detail, and that means that all but about $30 of the door and raffle proceeds will go to the Red Cross, assuming the NBDA writes off their seed money, which I suspect they will. I had a little business meeting with the other NBDA person who is working on this with me (Heather, the raffle wrangler, whom some of you have had contact with--she is truly wonderful and a dream to work with) and we feel like it's actually under control. Now I'm off to hang up posters around Somerville and Cambridge!
I'm also happy that despite a somewhat painful 2 hour dance class and going out dancing at Ceremony later, my foot hurts much less today than I have any right to have expected. I was massaging it last night and could feel that crunchy muscle feeling deep inside, so I don't think I broke anything, just wrenched it somehow. It may well be that as I slowly realign my body into a more correct posture and way of movement that I do experience some strains and injuries as things move into unaccustomed shapes and patterns, but I'll just try to see it as part of the process of it all.
Thanks for the various birthday wishes :-) The "if today is your birthday" horoscope in the Globe today said I will have the power and energy to envision things and get things done--I certainly seem to be starting out this year that way!
