SYTYCD results show

Well, that was a cop out.  I strongly suspect the judges shared my suspicions about Billy playing the rules to his benefit, but couldn't come out and accuse him directly, because that would set them up for the criticism that they were trying to force somebody to dance on an injury despite the dancer's better judgment.  If that's really the case, I do have sympathy for their position.  But otherwise, they were tripping over themselves with justifications.  Robert hasn't grown?  Did they watch his samba or his solo?  And José has grown, but only in his own style--um, that means he hasn't actually grown as a dancer in the sense that they want to see on the show.  So the decision ought to have been clear.  I suspected when they first announced the injury policy that it was going to be impractical down the line, and already it is.

Well, on a positive note, the opening jazz number was fun.  To give him credit, Kent actually stood out to me in it.  Jazzy Broadway really might be where he belongs.  Though Mark as usual owned the stage ;-)  I'm very glad that Adechike is finally getting some numbers in the voting.

That Enrique/Pitbull song was one of the worst things I've ever heard in my life.  And lip-synching your autotune is pretty low, when the whole point of autotune is to fix intonation--what do you have to lose by actually singing?  M and I Statler and Waldorf'ed it all the way through.  What a waste of Kathryn and Lauren's talents as dancers!

J and I went between boredom, shock, and hysterical laughter at Enrique Iglesias and Pitbill. So so terrible, and he though he was king of the world, tearing it up. Awful.

The judges should have bit the bullet and made a choice. I was not pleased.

I enjoyed the Fosse-fabo jazz number too...and was thinking "I dig this. This can't be Tyce...it's gonna be the woman who loves Fosse."

And, yes, laaaaaazy judges.

And Robert not growing? THey heap praise on him, he's improving, and they tends to not give him constructive critique EXCEPT "You should looks into training in X" which isn't really practical for the show at hand.
