Dogfish Head's Theobroma is seriously a piece of heaven in a glass.  Some of their archaeologically inspired beers are merely interesting, but this is astounding and I swear I could live on it.  I think I am going to have to go buy it all.

I quite enjoy Wigram Brewery Co's Captain Cook Spruce Beer, which is inspired by the beer said captain made for his men from manuka leaves when they first arrived in NZ. He was really into making these beers to prevent scurvy. Not silly. It's quite nice, fresh tasting but definitely not a lager.

I've had a Scottish spruce beer--I liked it, though I don't think I'd want to drink much of it. Same brewery makes a heather ale, no hops, just stuff that grows on Scottish hillsides, that I was very lucky to have from the cask at a real ale festival. I really like some of these archaic beers and am glad there's a niche for them.

I found it at the Giles in Arlington--I'd think Downtown in Davis would have it too, but you never know. The Wine Gallery in Kenmore Square usually has the Dogfish Head special runs too.
