It popped into my head while I was gardening just now that I did want to add that of course I don't think it's impossible for a non-native, culturally speaking, to be able to really get and portray a dance and music in all its nuance. That routine though was a good example of how it comes down to far more than just movements and costumes, and that the rest of it requires a lot of work.
