Today I almost tripped over a snake as I was staring up into old dead trees looking for owls that weren't there.  After that, I watched the ground more closely, and got good close looks at two more snakes.  There is a life lesson in there somewhere.

Down the Cape :-) Though when I lived in Brighton, a subsection of Boston, we found a shed snake skin in our basement, which was also home to numerous small creatures that a snake could live upon.
