alonewiththemoonThey are drilling holes in the basement floors in my building today, right under my office. This does not result in a happy Badriya Z, who is kinda sick and only barely dragged herself to work today. M called in sick, I should have joined him. But I have this personal thing about calling in sick on days when I have dance class, which is if I think I'm well enough to go to dance class at night, then I'm well enough to go to work during the day. So here I am, chilly and headachy. Brrr. Ow.
Last night when I left Amira Jamal's class at BU, it was about 9:30 and the streets of Boston were deserted, and those few people I saw out and about were very subdued. I thought "poor red sox, they must have lost and everybody went home all depressed." Then I saw the paper this morning and realized that silence I felt last night was the city collectively holding its breath. Kind of a neat thing to experience.
The end of Farscape made me snuffly.
Although it's starting to get cold in our apartment at night, the nice thing about that is that the ferrets come sleep curled up between me and M. It's very, very cute, especially when you roll over in the middle of the night and open your eyes to see two snoozing little ferret faces (they sleep between layers of covers with their heads sticking out, all they need are their own little pillows). They are both getting all plump and fluffy for the winter. Seti is such a teddy bear.
Things on my desk are shaking from the work downstairs. The water in my water bottle is quivering, just like in Jurassic Park. Which reminds me that the promos for Anonymous Rex on sci fi didn't look that bad. I also saw promos for Earthsea and Battlestar Galactica. I think it's been years since I've looked forward to watching something on SciFi. I hope they don't disappoint, especially wrt Earthsea. It looks a little more medievally than I always pictured it--I thought of everything looking a bit more bare and icelandic viking-like. And it looks like there's an introduced love story. But I will watch it with an open mind.
