nice boots...
Sep. 15th, 2004 11:05 amooh do I ever crave the new Miss December boots from Fluevog... it is probably a good thing for my bank account that "slender" and "mid-calf" are not words that one can use together when talking about my legs. :-/
After another night of dance class, I am utterly and completely in love with my new dance shoes. In addition to the support I get from them, I even feel my posture and balance better. Wierd that I'm getting this from heels, but hey, if it works, it works.
Class last night was an unexpected treat--nobody else could make it, so I got an hour and a half private class for the price of a regular class (generally, that would be about three times the price). Seyyide went over with me some things that I in particular needed to work on, some new cane stuff that we'll all be working on, and some really nifty Tunisian moves that she had learned this weekend in a workshop. It's very twisty stuff--Elvis has nothing on Tunisian ladies--with a lot of weight changes, so it really makes you think. I have a performance DVD with some Tunisian dancing on it, so I could recognize when I really had the movement. The dancers there wear these loose overshirts that billow and sway with all the twisting--it's very elegant yet earthy. And it was fun bonding stuff for me and Seyyide--which I guess is the point of a lot of this dance in the first place :-)
