I was just listening to the podcast with Lindelhof and Cuse as you wrote this :) They are very annoyed by ABC's marketing, and according to them the creative team has no control over what goes into the previews/commercials or what kinds of things will be promised. They said they actually weren't sure what the marketing team thought the three big mysteries were, the only mystery they meant to expose was the meaning of Jack's tattoo. So I agree it's terrible, and really backfired as advertising.
