Aug. 24th, 2004 11:05 amI hate it when I'm inadvertantly early for work, because then the whole morning just drags and drags. Even ten minutes early makes a difference. I think every time you look at the clock and discover it's earlier than you think it is, it has a cumulative effect on your time sense. And sanity.
Speaking of sanity, the security guys are here working on the alarm system and if the beeping doesn't stop soon, I will lose it.
Today at work we are having cake and ice cream for a co-worker's birthday at 2:30 and then leaving the office at 5:00 for goodbye drinks for another co-worker who is leaving in a week or so. I have dance class tonight so I can't drink (liquor + spinning with veil = very very dizzy), but at least that means I can justify the cake and ice cream on the grounds that I'll be exercising later.
I'm performing the ten minute piece that I did at the MS benefit for my class tonight. Somehow, performing for five or six people is much scarier than performing for 50 people. I didn't carry a whole costume with me today, but I did bring some odds and ends and some lipstick to help psych me up. I don't know why I'm so anxious about this. I really wish my leg was working right.
ooooh, no more beeping, just a prolonged electronic scream...
