there are no words

Sometimes it's easy to kind of take Rachel Brice for granted and sometimes the overexposure (in which I do my part, with my fangirl shirt) seems the most prominent thing, but then I see a video clip like this one and my god, she brings me to tears.  So divinely beautiful...

(I believe that's Beirut that she's dancing to)

She really is a goddess

Beautiful! She is so controlled and so smooth at the same time. Inspiring.

I hope floorwork becomes popular again. Used to be standard around these parts (for the sparkle/restaurant set), now I never see it.

That's Beirut, yes.

I think that (Gulag Orkestar) was one of the best albums of 2006, for what it's worth.

I totally agree.

There's a download from the upcoming EP at Pitchfork...that I totally can't find right now and I need to leave for work! Damnit.

When I see a performance like this, I get this prickly, nape-of-neck hair-raising feeling because it looks as if the dancer is filling the negative space between opposing forces ... or, more wonderous, as if s/he is mediating that space.

It's something like the feeling I would get watching a gifted preacher.

She is a great dancer. Just looking at the video makes me want to do more yoga. She is keeping me motivated.
