Raks Spooki IV, Nov. 15, Arlington, MA!
Jul. 30th, 2009 03:15 pmMark your calendars...
Raks Spooki IV!
Sunday, November 15, 7:30pm
The Regent Theatre (upstairs on the big stage!)
7 Medford Street
Arlington, MA
tickets are not yet on sale but an announcement will be made as soon as they are
Now accepting applications for performers--due to the limited number of performance slots and high interest in performing, I cannot guarantee that every applicant will be able to perform. (In fact, I can pretty much guarantee that not every applicant will be able to perform, which is why I will be holding a more informal gothic hafli in spring 2010, open on a first come, first serve basis.) Selections will be made first and foremost on the basis of presenting a diverse program with a variety of styles and artistic visions. Applications should include:
1. Your dance name and real name, if different (troupes, provide troupe name and a main contact person)
2. Complete contact information
3. Your performance concept, including music choice, 6 minutes maximum --->remember, this is a *gothic* event! You
don't have to be a regular performer of gothic belly dance, but your concept for Raks Spooki should have something
gothic about it.
4. Link to video clip online, or contact me about mailing me a DVD. If I have seen you perform before this is not
necessary, but please do not assume that if we were in a show together that I was able to see you--check first.
This does not have to be video of the project you have in mind for Raks Spooki but should be representative of your
dancing in general.
Please email me directly at badriya at rcn dot com with your application and do not send it via Tribe, Facebook, LiveJournal or other social networking site. I will however accept delivery via messenger bats ;-)
Deadline for applications is August 31, and notifications of selection will go out by September 6.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions--as always, I am looking forward to the wonderful performances this community produces, and all the more so now that we're back on the big stage!
