summer time
Jun. 14th, 2008 10:54 pmI am totally late on the trend with this one, but I really like AK-Momo. Fans of CocoRosie, the first Goldfrapp album, Billie Holiday and vintage organs would definitely enjoy them.
Today has been productive. I danced, somewhat leadenly but I made progress on the song I was working on. I picked up my Hanan skirt from the tailor's. They did a good enough job on shortening it, but in the future I'll find someone else, I think. I had the woman working there when I dropped it off pin the hem all around, because of course it has to be taken up less in the back than in the front, seeing as how I have booty. But when they sewed it, they did it straight all around. Luckily it's fine in the back and only a smidgen too long in the front, so I can deal with that. Lesson learned, though: use the local tailor only for simple stuff. Then I walked over to Playtime, picked up a bunch of crafty stuff and some replacement rhinestones for the Hanan, since I've given up on The Bellydance Store ever shipping me rhinestones as they promised a couple of weeks ago. Then I walked back! This was rather a lot for my foot but still within tolerable limits. Then Mathew and I cleaned out the grill's inner workings, as it wasn't lighting properly, and we actually fixed it ourselves. Summer outdoor cooking, here we come! Veggie burgers and Kung Fu Hustle have rounded out the evening nicely.
As I was cleaning the ferrets' litter box, Ianto grabbed the end of a roll of paper towels and took off with it across the room. He was just so pleased with himself I let him unroll most of it :)
