Sep. 28th, 2006 02:32 pmJust spoke to Dr. M--the preliminary results came in on some of Ronan's biopsies, and not surprisingly, the intestinal biopsy revealed "severe" irritable bowel disorder. So, not a great answer, but reassuringly a definite answer. He'll go on pediapred, not sure how much or how often yet, and go on a diet of just Innova Evo Ferret Diet (excellent new kibble with no corn or rice), and hopefully we'll see improvements in a matter of days. If not, we up his dosages and possibly add other drugs.
Selfishly, I hope it's a once a day dosage rather than twice a day because that is much easier to accomodate, especially since this is a lifetime treatment (Ronan's roughly 3 this winter, so I'd be hoping to be looking at three more years at least). But I'll do what needs doing regardless. It really is a relief to be able to give him something knowing that it is the right drug for what is ailing him.
