Perhaps that's the more realistic assessment, but it hasn't happened yet... Many of the letters were interesting; I thought the best proposal among them was to create a minimum stud age of 5 or 6. That writer's thinking was that this would weed the horses with genetic structural flaws out of the gene pool, but I also think it would encourage owners and trainers to take their time with each individual horse and avoid overtraining them too young, which I'm inclined to think is more the real problem.
