technology woes
Aug. 11th, 2005 07:10 pmThe Raqia Hassan DVD I had been anxiously awaiting arrived today--but it turns out it's a DVD+R, which happens to be a format my player can't play. I can play DVD-R and DVD-RW, but not +R. This is very frustrating because I'd been so looking forward to this DVD with its cane choreography. My cd-drive doesn't recognize the disc, although I thought it was supposed to be able to read +Rs. I've contacted the person who sold it to me about exchanging it for a format I can play, but that's a rather forlorn hope. Do any of you dear readers have the technological capability to copy a DVD+R onto a DVD-R or -RW? There's also a possibility that the DVD is encoded for whatever code they use in Egypt, I'm not sure where it was originally produced. Any advice or ideas gratefully appreciated...
