I also am protection against werewolves though, so that's got to count in my favor. Kind of funny that this was my quiz answer, because earlier today I was so upset by the T I honestly thought it would make me vomit. My life operates on too fine an edge right now for things like a single train operating on the track between Alewife and Harvard when I need to be in Central in 20 minutes, knowing that there is someone waiting to meet me and that the meter is ticking on a rehearsal space we've rented. It seemed like such a good idea to walk to Alewife to get all warmed up for dancing. But if I'd been lazy and taken the bus, I would have been pretty much on time. That'll teach me to defeat sloth. It was 57 minutes from the time I entered the Alewife station to the time I arrived in Central. Grr. All the goddamn confused tourists in the way didn't make me the slightest bit less bile-ridden.

But one very productive rehearsal and a beer later, I am much more relaxed.

nepenthe01 brought her video camera, and apart from obvious mistakes like veil malfunctions or the occasional blanking on a section of the choreography, we looked a lot more in sync than I thought we might, really pretty close through most of it. Optimism is operating at full force--in a week, we can really learn the choreo and while veil malfunctions happen, now I know where I'm likely to step on my veil and hopefully not do it.

I really ought to work on my music for tomorrow, but you know what? I'm giving me a Saturday night off. Time to have another beer...

I was caught in that single-train thing as well, trying to get from Porter to South Station, and then back to Davis Square for the Alloy Orchestra show. I had allowed two and a half hours to do all of that and go to Somedays for some tea and writing time before the show; as it was, I was twenty minutes late for curtain.

Apparently, there was a derailment?
