argh

I finally got through on the Boston Globe hotline to discover that I am indeed one of those lucky people whose debit card information was distributed on the wrappers of bundled papers this weekend. The brain boggles at imagining what kind of idiot would let that mistake happen--nay, what kinds of idiots, because surely more than one person must have printed the information and then wrapped the newspapers with it. How utterly annoying. I guess at lunchtime I'll stock up on cash to last me a week or so and then cancel my debit card. This is sucktastically inconvenient, I buy everything by debit card and hardly carry cash any more >:-(

On the positive side, I can almost breathe clearly without having taken any drugs at all, just a mug of breathe easy tea. I was even doing ok before the tea. Dance class was a little grueling last night, but it did indeed feel good to move around. My back and neck hate me for sleeping propped up on too many pillows, but it's been the only way I could breathe at night. Happily we did lots of twisty movements, so my lower back is much happier now. I guess that would be a sign of improved posture, if that kind of movement makes me feel better rather than worse!

hmm, thought I had more to say... Oh, if you are interested in buying tickets to the Ominous Collective bash on the 9th, I will have tickets with me this weekend at a party on Friday night and the Dark Sidewalkers event on Saturday night, health permitting. It will be a super swell event and you should go!

IT's like when H&R block sent out free software to people and their SSNs were on the mailing label!

Wow, that sucks. You'd think a newspaper would have a shredder or two around, though. :/ Best wishes for a speedy arrival on the new debit card!

Sorry about the hassle with the Globe. Glad you're feeling more breathe-y.

Gah. That's...absurd.
Cancelling is good, I hope more people do it and don't have fraud issues.

Crap, I'm on that list too!

I'm going to follow your lead w/ getting cash out and cancelling the card. It figures, because its my bank card, and its what all automated payments come out of.

Globe --horrifying
Breathing -- good

Tickie tickie! Mememe!! I'll be out on Friday night. And even with all else going on right now, I am so psyched to go the Collective bash! Glad someone could (barely) afford to rent the CMC. Hooray.

you should be able to just go to a branch office of your bank and they will cancel your card and issue you a new temporary one on-the-spot. then they will send you a new permanent one in the mail but the temporary one will work until you initialize the permanent one. it's the same scenario as losing a card. banks deal with this shit all the time.
