neat

there is a mixed flock of tufted titmice and chickadees in the trees outside my office window this morning. Happy chirpy little birdies.

Atalanta and I were watching a pair hop around outside our window the other day and commented on how weird it was that you ALWAYS see them together.

Plus, not only are they called titmice (8 year old giggle) but they have mohawks!

We have a pretty large mixed flock of them hanging around outside the house frequently (the landladies have feeders all over). Though this morning they were being chased off by starlings and bluejays.

chickadees and boobiemice are rather attracted to sunflower seeds. and they move in and out of the picture so quickly it's usually easier to find them by sound! if you like them (as i do (well, i officially like all the indigenous species!)), try putting up a sunflower seed feeder. house sparrows aren't too excited about that type of seed, while you'll get lots of indigenous species.
also, chickadees are pretty brave and will sometimes land on a hand in the name of snacking.

Thanks for the links, Curse and I love birds, and it's always nice to see such charming photos of them! Enjoy their songs :)
