Zipcar names them, according to the first letter of the model's name. So I've driven Mundorf and Mallek the Mazdas, Verdad the Nissan Versa, Ciara the Honda Civic, Plum the Toyota Prius, Izzard the Subaru Impreza, etc. The names are on a little sticker on the rear windshield. It's cutesy but it's easier to remember than license plates.
