My next door neighbor's tabla* playing is so bad I thought I was hearing rain dripping through the downspout on that side of the house, until it occurred to me that it wasn't raining.

*or maybe djembe, I'm not sure--you certainly can't tell style from his playing. It's a tall drum, bigger than a doumbek.

Had much fun at an 80s themed party last night. Somebody told me I looked like a tribal (in the non-belly dance sense of the word) deathrock chick, which was awesome because that is indeed pretty much the look I went for back then. It was great to dress up like that again. But it was also very, very good to get all that hairspray out of my hair this morning. Some things can stay in the past ;-) Meant to make it to the afterparty, but M could not go because he had to be up super early this morning, and I got so chilled on the way back to our house that I just wanted to curl up into a tiny ball for the rest of the night. So I did.

Today I will be busy busy busy!

you missed the death Meade. Lee and I each had a wee bit of it and it slapped both of us upside the head... and it being 2pm, we just recently woke up.

Yeah, I think there's definitely an element of that to it--we've been there, done that, *and* been spat at for it. Whippersnappers don't know how easy they have it these days!
