this morning's dose of joy

was an air compressor being operated directly below our bedroom at 9:30am.  I woke up in a panic thinking that the furnace was making that awful noise and that the house was going to explode, went down to the basement and found the neighbor tinkering away with stuff.  Blearily I said "we sleep right there" pointing directly upwards, and he looked sheepish and apologized and said he was done.  As with the last neighbors, if you've been told  the laundry wakes us up, why would you not think that an even louder noise would also wake us up?

A warning would've been nice, too. My last asshat neighbors thought nothing of spending entire Sundays sanding the floors above me.
