On the carpeted floor I wear full sole ballet slippers--those provide me with enough glide that torquing isn't an issue, or not much of one.

Her email said the classes would be 7-9. I think if you can dance for 15 minutes, then you can do the class--nobody's expected to be perfect from the get go :)
