I actually did/do suspect that Libby made up a name on the spot and that there was no husband--I didn't even remember, at least not consciously, that Hurley's imaginary friend was named Dave. I thought Libby was just making everything up on the spot, and that her next stop after coffee was going to be the boat store to have a boat ready for Desmond.
