Barbaro's cast (the one on the broken right hind leg, not the laminitis leg) is coming off next week--amazing!

Today I do not have construction equipment right outside my office window, but there are guys working on the facade of the building next door and they are playing awful country-rock-pop radio that is worse than jackhammers.  I am attempting to drown it out with Gogol Bordello before I start grinding my teeth.  I have so little tolerance for music I don't like.  I am definitely my father's daughter.

Worked more on my cane stuff at the Dance Complex last night, but I could only get a studio for 45 minutes.  I suppose though it was better to work intensively for a shorter time than to work longer and wear myself out.  I think I have cleared up the last problem spots, now it's just a matter of practicing over the next two days.  Again, don't know if I'll be of winning quality, but I feel confident that I will at least be entertaining and interesting.  And I'll look great, because I spent a while last night refitting my Egyptian bedleh bra so that the straps are the right length and the fringe is much more flattering for my torso.  It is a little nervewracking to cut into a garment that cost hundreds of dollars, but I learned useful things about how Egyptian costumes are constructed, and found a super shortcut to fringe removal which saved me literally hours of work.  If I have time over the next two days I'll make myself some matching earrings from the extra fringe.

It was good to work with a real mirror; I need to remember to make a point of doing that even when I'm not preparing for something specific.  The noise overflow at the Dance Complex drives me insane, though; see early comment re music I don't like.

Weasels are doing well--Ronan's tummy issues seem to have stabilized with pediapred and a corn-, grain- and rice-free diet.  He's gotten fat again but he's also becoming more energetic, so hopefully the fat will resolve itself.  He's on a limited diet right now and every time I walk into the bedroom he goes and lies down next to the kibble bowl in an attempt to convince me that he is fainting from hunger.  Seti's got his own kibble dish now in a place that he can jump to and Ronan can't.

I generally love Forrest Whitaker, but this guest appearance on ER seems lifted straight out of his role on The Shield--angry obsessive guy who starts stalking his enemy's family.  Can't believe I'm still watching the show, I think it's mostly for the nostalgia of seeing Chicago.  It has perked up a bit this season, though.

I am leaving work early this afternoon to get my hair done, yay!  So I suppose I'd better get back to actually working.
