Melina is a very good dancer, American Cabaret and Turkish style, and knows her stuff. Her mom is a belly dancer too, so Melina's been dancing since before she could walk. I've only taken a couple of workshops with her and never been in her regular classes. What I've heard from those who take her classes is that she teaches a lot of good stuff but you are on your own when it comes to gauging how well or accurately you are learning it--there's little or no direct feedback (that was true of the workshops as well, though you don't expect as much feedback necessarily at a workshop). The lack of feedback particularly becomes an issue with posture, since Melina naturally leans back but for most of us that would be bad posture. But, she's turned out some great students, and she's a really fun person to be around.

I've been tempted by the Saturday thing too, esp. as my Turkish knowledge is pretty weak, but I just can't give up that many Saturdays in a row...
